Diesel Exhaust Fluid Question

Hello everyone.

I'm looking for some clarification regarding diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) usage. I understand it's essential for reducing nitrogen oxide emissions in modern diesel engines, but I'm unsure about the frequency of refills. How often should you check and top off the diesel exhaust fluid in your vehicle?

Does the vehicle's onboard system provide alerts when it's running low, or is it more of a manual check process? Additionally, is there a recommended storage method to keep the DEF from freezing or becoming contaminated?

Any advice on maintaining optimal DEF levels would be greatly appreciated!
