Dallas, TX - The NCBWA (National Collegiate Baseball Writers) unveiled its Preseason All-America Teams Tuesday with a two familiar faces to preseason awards and accolades and one unrated Rebel nationally that all Ole Miss faithful know is integral to the teams success.

Sophomore Jacob Gonzalez continues to bring home pre-season attention this time a 1st Team All-America selection at Short Stop. Looking to improve upon a terrific Freshman campaign expect Gonzalez to hold down a middle of the line-up slot in the batting order and anchor the middle of the infield along with 2nd Baseman Peyton Chatagnier.

Rebel Captain and Super Senior Tim Elko took the DH spot on the 2nd Team All-America list. Elko will absolutely play the field this year most likely at 1st base. As we all know, the Captain's 2021 season was truncated due to his ACL tear on April 5. His determination and unwavering desire to his team, allowed him to rehab his knee to return in limited capacity as a DH. His injury did not prevent him from being an absolute offensive weapon at the plate. Elko finished 2021 with a .325 average, .675 slugging, and 16 home runs including three homeruns in the Regional in Oxford which garnered him Most Outstanding Player of the Regional.

An unsung player for Ole Miss is Kevin Graham who gained a spot on the 2nd Team All-America list as an outfielder. A model of consistency, Graham finished the season on longest reached-base streak in college baseball (60 games). Statistically, Graham closed out 2021 with a .342 average, 14 home runs and 15 doubles. He started every game for the Red and Blue in 2021.

Congrats to these fine young men and competitors!
